WATERFORD, Conn. – Freshman Meredith Cronin (Foxboro, Mass.) led the Connecticut College women's cross country program to a 10th-place finish among 21 scoring teams in its home invitational at a rain-soaked Harkness Memorial State Park on Saturday morning.

Middlebury, which is ranked ninth in the latest USTFCCCA national poll, won the team championship by finishing 12 points ahead of runner-up Tufts. Coast Guard freshman Kaitlyn Mooney, who has not lost a race this season, won the individual crown by circling the 6,000-meter circuit in 21:35.8 and nearly 20 seconds ahead of the remainder of the field.

Junior Eva Brydson (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) finished second on the squad in 24:00.4, which was good for 50th overall, while senior Grace Sheeran (Medina, Wash.) was 55th in 24:08.4.
