KERRVILLE, Texas – Sophomore Skylar Morgan (Pittsburgh, Pa.) was victorious in singles and doubles play as the Connecticut College women's tennis team defeated Schreiner by a score of 7-2 at the Cree Tennis Center on Monday.
Morgan first teamed up with Meredith Kenny to edge Schreiner's Lauren Stanley and Marlee Daniels at No. 2 doubles by a score of 8-7 (7-2). She then trounced Kate Woods at No. 6 singles by set scores of 6-0 and 6-1.
Senior Emily Migliorini (North Haven, Conn.) as well as junior Hayley Zukerberg (Newton, Mass.) and sophomore Paige Braithwaite (Skillman, N.J.) defeated their singles opponents in straight sets from the No. 1, No. 2, and No. 4 spots, respectively, while junior Rachel Weiss (Great Neck, N.Y.) rallied to earn a hard-fought victory at No. 3 singles by marks of 2-6, 6-4, and 10-4. Junior Stephanie Simon (Wellesley, Mass.) and freshman Allison Falvey (Wakefield, Mass.) also teamed up for a win at No. 3 doubles by a score of 8-5.
Connecticut College (2-2) plays East Texas Baptist later today.
