Kirk Czelewicz ’15 is in his first season as an assistant swimming coach at Connecticut College and fifth year with the program overall. He is responsible for assisting head coach Marc Benvenuti with all aspects of the program.

Since graduating from Connecticut College, Czelewicz most recently spent the past three seasons as an assistant coach at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and Albion College. At Rose-Hulman, he coached a male and female All-American during the 2015-16 season and also helped lead the men’s program to a conference championship. Czelewicz also coached a male All-American at Albion and helped the head coach recruit at both institutions among other day-to-day responsibilities.

As a Camel, Czelewicz was a six-time NCAA All-America Honorable Mention selection by swimming the breaststroke leg for the 200 and 400-yard medley relay teams at the NCAA Championships in 2012, 2014 and 2015. In addition, He was an All-NESCAC selection in several events and received the school’s prestigious Anita L. DeFrantz Award, which is presented annually to the male and female members of the graduating class whose athletic ability, sportsmanship, and leadership best exemplify the qualities of Olympic medalist Anita L. DeFrantz ’74.

A native of Lowell, Massachusetts, Czelewicz graduated from Connecticut College with a bachelor’s degree in anthropology and a minor in botany in 2015. He holds certifications as a lifeguard, lifeguard instructor and certified pool operator.
