No. 24 Men’s Cross Country Places Sixth at Purple Valley Invitational

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The No. 24 Connecticut College men's cross country team placed sixth at the Purple Valley Invitational while competing among a stacked field featuring numerous national and regionally-ranked programs on Saturday afternoon at Mt. Greylock High School.

Junior Danny Aschale (Cambridge, Mass.) placed third among 208 runners by covering the 8,000-meter course in 25:55.8 to lead the way for the Camels. Senior Scott Mason (Chestnut Hill, Pa.) finished 20th in 26:34.2 to finish second on the squad, while junior Josh Simensky (Falmouth, Maine) hit the tape 71st overall in 27:39.1. Senior Russell Adam (Cheshire, Conn.) and sophomore Ethan Milsark (Northampton, Mass.) completed the team's top five by finishing 84th and 94th with marks of 27:49.9 and 28:04.4, respectively.

Led by individual winner Sean O'Connor, who ran a blistering time of 25:44.7, No. 6 RPI easily won the team title with 41 points. Host and 17th-ranked Williams finished second with 72 points, while No. 8 Middlebury (103), No. 3 Amherst (118) and No. 7 MIT (127) rounded out the top five in the team standings.

Connecticut College will next trek to Bowdoin to compete at the Maine State Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 29.
