MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – The Connecticut College men's track & field team placed 10th overall with 16 points at the NESCAC Championships on Saturday afternoon.
Junior Danny Aschale (Cambridge, Mass.) posted the highest finish of the day for the Camels by placing second in the 10,000-meter run in 31:23.94. Spencer Crough, meanwhile, picked up an additional point for the team in the 800-meter run by punching in an eighth-place time of 1:59.88.
Another notable effort was made by Ian McAleer (Newfields, N.H.). The sophomore finished sixth in the 200-meter dash in 22.28 seconds and also anchored the fifth-place 4x100-meter relay team which circled the track in 44.09. The group also included junior Jacob Beloin (Cheshire, Conn.), sophomore Ian Anderson (Chicago, Ill.), and freshman Billy Fleurima (Bronx, N.Y.).
Connecticut College will next send its top student-athletes to compete at the New England Division III Championships. The three-day event will be hosted by Williams College between May 2 and May 4.
