CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Senior Connor Trapp (Wilmette, Ill.) completed the 1,500-meter run in a personal-best time of 3:52.88 at a final qualifying meet being hosted by MIT on Thursday evening.
Trapp placed fifth overall to position himself for a possible invitation to the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships. By bettering his previous season-best mark of 3:55.85, Trapp ended the evening with one of the top 25 times in the country.
Select members of the Connecticut College men's track & field team will now wait to see if they will have the opportunity to compete at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships in La Crosse, Wisconsin from May 26-28 when qualifiers are announced on Saturday. Junior Scott Mason (Wyndmoor, Pa.) and sophomore Danny Aschale (Cambridge, Mass.) are currently ranked among the top 20 nationally in at least one event.
