Men’s Track & Field Competes Outdoors for First Time at Tufts

MEDFORD, Mass. – The Connecticut College men's track & field team competed outdoors for the first time this spring at the Tufts Snowflake Invitational on Saturday. The Camels placed 14th among 20 scoring teams by accumulating 21 points.

Three members of the team notched a top-five finish in an individual event to provide most of the scoring. Freshman Spencer Crough (Southampton, N.Y.) placed fourth in the 800-meter run by completing the race in 1:59.09, while junior Jonathan Handy (Hingham, Mass.) matched the feat by recording a personal-best toss that traveled 139-feet, 4-inches in the hammer throw. Junior Mike D'Onofrio (East Haven, Conn.) was fifth in the javelin throw by recording a mark of 168-0.

Connecticut College will send most of its team to compete at the Coast Guard Invitational next weekend, while select members will trek to Princeton to compete at the prestigious Sam Howell Invitational.
