Walter Komishane

ABILENE, Texas – Freshman Julian Tien (Barrington, R.I.) and senior Will Cannon (Fairfield, Conn.) teamed up to win at No. 1 doubles and were also victorious in singles action as the Connecticut College men's tennis team concluded a trip to Texas with a 6-3 triumph over Dallas Baptist, which competes at the Division II level, on Monday.

Tien and Cannon earned the only doubles point for the Camels by registering an 8-3 win over Grant McKenzie and Riley Smith. The duo then helped the team rally from behind in singles action, as Tien took down Brian Nguyen by scores of 3-6, 6-4, and 6-3 from the No. 2 position and Cannon beat Josh Williams by marks of 6-4 and 6-2 at No. 4. After dropping a hard-fought battle in his singles match against Hardin-Simmons earlier in the day, sophomore Walter Komishane (Manchester, Mass.) regrouped to earn a 6-4, 6-4 win at the No. 6 spot.

Connecticut College (4-3) returns to the Nutmeg State and will next travel to face Wesleyan on Thursday, March 28 at 4 p.m.
