NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Connecticut College men's swimming team will travel to Middlebury to compete at the NESCAC Championships this weekend. The four-day event will take place from Thursday Feb. 21 to Sunday, Feb. 24.
The Camels have relied on their youth to carry them throughout the season with nine freshmen and four sophomores on the 19-player roster. Sophomore Charlie Adl (New Canaan, Conn.), who is the only returning swimmer to compete at last year's NCAA Championships, is seeded seventh in the 1,000-yard freestyle and should be a force on several relays over the course of the weekend. Freshman Colin Merrill (Glastonbury, Conn.) is seeded high in the 400 IM and 200 fly, while sophomore Jared Nussbaum (Ridgefield, Conn.) is expected to score highly in all three distance freestyle events.
The four-day championship event begins Thursday evening at 7 p.m. with the 800 free relay and conclude on Sunday night. Live stats and a webcast will also be provided for fans who can't make it to the meet in person.
