HAMILTON, N.Y. – Sophomore Michael Rodriguez (New Haven, Conn.) provided the deciding point twice as the Connecticut College men's squash team concluded competing at the NESCAC Championships with a pair of 5-4 victories over Tufts and Wesleyan at Colgate on Saturday.
Rodriguez, who was playing in the No. 3 position, first rallied to defeat his opponent from Tufts by set scores of 10-12, 15-13, 11-6 and 11-8 in the team's first match of the day. He then came through in the clutch again by earning another come-from-behind win by scores of 6-11, 8-11, 11-7, 11-7 and 12-10.
Other double winners for the Camels included freshman James Andrew (Dover, Mass.) and junior Scott Brown (Old Greenwich, Conn.). Andrew did not drop a set all day from the No. 7 spot and most notably cruised past his opponent from Tufts by set scores of 11-7, 11-4 and 11-4. Brown ended the tournament on a high note by winning the No. 4 position by marks of 11-9, 11-7 and 11-7.
Connecticut College (10-8) will wrap up its 2017-18 campaign when it hosts Bryant on Saturday, Feb. 10 at 10:00 a.m.
