HADLEY, Mass. – Connecticut College junior midfielder Ben Manoogian (Peabody, Mass.) and freshman goalkeeper A.J. Marcucci (West Chester, Pa.) each earned All-NESCAC men's soccer postseason laurels, as announced by the league office on Thursday afternoon. Manoogian was named to the first team, while Marcucci landed on the second team and was also recognized as the conference's rookie of the year.
Manoogian, a team captain, is being recognized for the first time of his career after leading the Camels in scoring this season. Entering the NCAA Tournament, the junior has registered eight goals, including three game-winning markers, and one assist for 17 points. He most notably got off to a hot start by registering two goals and an assist in the season opener against Mitchell and had deciding tallies in victories versus Swarthmore, Trinity and Eastern Connecticut State.
Marcucci started every match this season as a freshman and ranked among the league leaders with an .897 save percentage and an 0.54 goals against average. He also recorded six clean sheets and was the team's primary goalkeeper during a stretch in which the Camels went nearly 600 minutes without conceding a goal between Sept. 17 and Oct. 7.
Connecticut College (9-3-4) will make its first NCAA Tournament appearance since 1995 and second overall in program history this weekend at SUNY Oneonta. The Camels will first face Rochester of the University Athletic Association on Saturday, Nov. 11 at 1:30 p.m.
