Women’s Cross Country Opens Season at Trinity Invitational

MANCHESTER, CONN. – The Connecticut College women's cross country program opened its 2017 season by placing fourth overall among 12 scoring teams at the Trinity College Invitational on Saturday.

Freshman Meredith Cronin (Foxboro, Mass.), who was competing in her first cross country race at any level, led the way for the Camels by navigating Wickham Park's 5,000-meter circuit in 21:24.9 and placing 13th out of 95 finishers. Sophomore Hannah Noyes (Vinalhaven, Maine) was second on the squad and 15th overall in 21:32.2, while junior Eva Brydson (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) was one spot behind her in the field by hitting the tape in 21:34.1. Sophomore Elizabeth Hensley (Northport, N.Y.) and junior Caitlin Teare (Yarmouth, Maine) completed the top five for Connecticut College with times of 22:30.8 and 22:40, respectively.

The Camels will next compete at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 16.
