NEW LONDON, Conn.-- Connecticut College junior April Anderson (Mill Valley, Calif.) has been named to the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III All-Conference Team.
Anderson has scored 29 goals and assisted on 19 others to lead the Camels this season. She has collected 15 steals and drawn 25 earned ejections. A 2016 Honorable Mention All-American for the Camels, Anderson helped lead the Camels to their fourth consecutive Division IIII Crown last spring, wrapping up a sensational sophomore campaign with 24 goals, six assists, eight steals, three earned ejections and two saves in the cage.
"April has shown her versatility this year," Connecticut College Head Men's and Women's Water Polo Coach Matt Anderson said. "She started out as our two meter defender, which she was an all American at that position last year, to becoming our two meter offensive set towards the latter half of the season. She has been dependable for us and has really played a huge role every game. I think she's had a better year this season than last."
The Camels are seeded fourth in this week's Division III Championship. They will take on the Monmouth Scots in the opening round of action Saturday at Macalester College in St. Paul, Minn. The match will be played at 11:40 a.m. Central Time.
