NEW LONDON, Conn.--Senior outside hitter Tori Jasuta (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) tallied 17 kills and 11 digs to lead the Williams College volleyball team to its fifth straight win in a 3-1 triumph at Connecticut College this afternoon. The set scores were 25-10, 25-21, 15-25 and 25-22 in favor of the Camels.
The Ephs improved their record to 9-7 and are 4-2 in NESCAC play. The Camels evened their NESCAC mark at 3-3 with the setback and are 8-7 overall.
Sophomore Ally Ostrow (Menlo Park, Calif.) chipped in with 16 kills and 11 digs for the victors. Erin Denham (Winnetka, Ill.) contributed six kills. Rookie setter Alex Newton (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) dished out 42 assists in the win. Senior libero Caitie Benell (Pacific Palisades, Calif.) recorded 14 digs for the visitors. Daiana Takashima (Walnut Creek, Calif.) contributed with 13 digs for the Ephs.
Connecticut College sophomore Jenny Kellogg (Los Altos, Calif.) finished with nine kills and four digs in the match. Junior Sam Hunter (Palos Verdes, Calif.) and sophomore Maddie Rust (Austin, Tex.) had eight kills each. Junior setter Katia Elisman (Lake Forest, Ill.) finished with 16 assists and 12 digs in the contest.
Junior libero Caroline Branigan (Pacific Palisades, Calif.) recorded 10 digs for the hosts.
Williams will look to extend its winning streak to six when the Ephs visit Hamilton College Friday night for an 8:00 p.m. match in Clinton, N.Y.
The Camel will visit cross-town foe Mitchell College Monday night for a 6:00 p.m. match in the Whaling City.
