WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – Sophomore Meredith Cronin (Foxboro, Mass.) and senior Eva Brydson (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) each recorded a top-five finish in the 10,000-meter run as the Connecticut College women's track & field team concluded the second day of action at the New England Division III Championships in a tie for second place.
The Camels registered all 12 of their points in the 10,000-meter run to end the evening only trailing Rhode Island College in the team standings. Cronin, who was competing in the race for the first time, finished second in 38:16.33 to record the highest finish of the day for the team. Brydson placed fifth by hitting the tape in 39:25.58 and registering a personal-best time in the event by 23 seconds.
Senior Shannon Kennedy (East Longmeadow, Mass.) had a strong opening day in the heptathlon and stands in fifth place with 2,624 points. She most notably finished second in the 200-meter dash with a personal-best time of 26.55 seconds.
Connecticut College will conclude competing at the New England Championships tomorrow morning on the campus of Williams College.
