Babson Clips Women’s Tennis

Brinley Bartlett

BABSON PARK, Mass. – In a match that came down to the wire, the Connecticut College women's tennis team was edged by Babson, 5-4, in non-conference action on Friday afternoon. The Beavers won two doubles matches to gain the upper hand and then later clinched the victory at No. 1 singles.

Senior Mariah Warren (McLeansville, N.C.) and freshman Brooke Scully (Winchester, Mass.) picked up the point in doubles play for the Camels. The duo took down Carolina Merz and Marissa Madison from the top spot.

The Camels showcased their depth by taking the bottom three singles matches. Senior Brinley Bartlett (Malvern, Pa.) most notably had a dominating performance from the No. 6 position, downing Alexandra Blizard by identical 6-1 scores.

Connecticut College (8-7) will look to win its first match over a NESCAC opponent this spring when it visits Trinity on Sunday at 10 a.m.
