LEWISTON, Maine – The Connecticut College women's tennis team dropped a pair of 8-1 matches to No. 27 Bates and Nichols on Sunday afternoon.
Sophomore Stephanie Simon (Wellesley, Mass.) and senior Aleksandra Drljaca (East Greenwich, R.I.) picked up the point for the Camels in the NESCAC matchup against Bates in Maine by earning an 8-4 victory at No. 3 doubles. Drljaca also played a close match at the top singles spot, falling in three sets by scores of 6-2, 3-6 and 8-10.
In a home match against Nichols, freshman Paige Braithwaite (Skillman, N.J.) was victorious for the Camels at No. 2 singles. She defeated Megan Nathanson by set scores of 3-6, 6-3 and 10-2. In addition, the freshman teamed up with sophomore Alexandra Waldman (East Hampton, N.Y.) in the tightest doubles match which ended in an 8-5 decision in favor of the Bisons from the No. 2 spot.
Connecticut College (2-6, NESCAC 0-4) will regroup and face Babson in its next match on Thursday afternoon at 3:30 p.m.
