Camels Improve to 6-2 with Wins Against Webber International & Grinnell Monday

BABSON PARK, Fla.--The Connecticut College women's tennis team picked up two more wins in Florida Monday, improving their record to 6-2 this season.

The Camels coasted to a 9-0 victory against Webber International University and added a 7-2 triumph against Grinnell College.

In the victory against the Webber Warriors, sophomore Aleksandra Drljaca (East Greenwich, R.I.) and senior Charlotte Marcoux (Sudbury, Mass.) dominated at the top of the line-up with both Camels recording 6-1, 6-1 victories in their respective slots at first and second singles. Sophomore Angelica Warren (McLeansville, N.C.) chipped in with a 6-2, 6-2 victory at third singles.

Junior Susanna Studwell (Tucson, Ariz.) won a 6-0, 6-1 decision at fourth singles. Mariah Warren (McLeansville, N.C.) coasted to a 6-0, 6-1 win at number five. Senior Aneeka Kalia (Southborough, Mass.) tacked on a 6-1, 6-4 victory at sixth singles for Connecticut College.

First year Camels Emily Migliorini (North Haven, Conn.) and Brinley Bartlett (Malvern, Pa.) eased past their opposition at number one doubles in an 8-1 win. Angelica and Mariah Warren coasted to an 8-0 win at second doubles. Junior Jillian Brigandi (Harrington Park, N.J.) and Kalia posted an 8-2 victory at third doubles.

In the victory against the Pioneers of Grinnell, Drljaca, Migliorini and Marcoux posted convincing straight set victories at number one, two and three singles. Bartlett chipped in with a 6-0, 6-1 triumph at number five singles for the Camels. Drljaca and Marcoux joined forces to take an 8-2 decision at number one doubles. Migliorini and Bartlett contributed with an 8-4 victory at second doubles. Angelica and Mariah Warren took care of business at third doubles, posting an 8-6 win for the Camels.

The Pioneers (10-4) had carried momentum into Monday's match up as winners in six of their past seven outings.
