UNC Pembroke 9, Connecticut College 0 Marcoux Shines in FIrst Loss of Spring for Camels

PEMBROKE, N.C.--The University of North Caroline Pembroke women's tennis team secured a 9-0 victory against visiting Connecticut College in a non-conference match up played Thursday. 

The Braves improved their record to 6-3 with the triumph, while the Camels slipped to 1-3 with the loss.

Leigh Anne-McAfee (Port Elizabeth, South Africa) earned a 7-5, 6-3 victory in a hard fought battle with Connecticut College sophomore Charlotte Marcoux (Sudbury, Mass.) at #1 singles. 

Junior Shelby Bickel (Cary, N.C.) earned a 6-2, 6-2 victory at #2 singles for the Braves.

Connecticut College freshman Susanna Studwell (Tucson, Ariz.) and senior Monica Rohrbach (Fort Worth, Texas) played the closest match in doubles competition, dropping an 8-3 decision.
