HADLEY, Mass. – Connecticut College freshman Kat Norton (Hampton, Conn.) and senior Lauren Steele (Westford, Mass.) each earned All-NESCAC postseason laurels, as announced by the league office on Thursday afternoon. Both players landed on the second team.
Norton, a forward, leads the Camels in scoring this fall and has racked up seven goals, which includes four game-winning tallies, and 14 points. All four of her deciding markers have come in NESCAC matches in victories over Middlebury, Hamilton, Bates and Wesleyan, while her goal which came just 11 seconds into the match against the Cardinals is one of the fastest scored in the history of NCAA Division III women's soccer.
Steele is having a standout senior campaign, registering nine points on three goals and three assists as a midfielder for the second straight season. She scored game-winning goals against Colby and Eastern Connecticut State while also netting the deciding marker on a bomb from long range in the team's 1-0 victory over Coast Guard.
Connecticut College (12-3-1) will compete in the NCAA Tournament for the third time in four years this weekend on the campus of Johns Hopkins. The Camels will first face Wilkes of the Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom on Saturday, Nov. 11 at 1:30 p.m.
