NEW LONDON, Conn.—Senior Kristi Kershe (Franklin, Mass.) scored in the 36th minute of action to lead the second ranked and undefeated Williams College women's soccer team to a 1-0 shutout victory against previously unbeaten and 20th ranked Connecticut College.
The Ephs improved their record to 7-0-1 with the win, while the Camels fell to 7-1 (3-1 NESCAC).
The game featured a rematch of the 2014 NESCAC Championship that saw the Camels advance on penalty kicks in Williamstown. It was Connecticut College's first NESCAC crown.
Sophomore Olivia Barnhill (New York, N.Y.) made 11 saves en route to the shutout for the visitors.
Connecticut College junior keeper Bryanna Montalvo (Rocky Hill, Conn.) finished with five saves in the loss for the Camels.
The Camels enjoyed a 20-15 shot advantage in the contest and that included a 13-8 cushion in the second stanza.
