Baltazar Honored as NESCAC Player of the Week for Camels

NEW LONDON, Conn.--Connecticut College sophomore forward Alex Baltazar of Ludlow, Mass. has been honored as the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Women's Soccer Player of the Week.

Baltazar sparked the Camels in a perfect 2-0 week, contributing with three goals while assisting on a fourth score in two home victories. Baltazar scored 12 seconds into the second half to help lead the Camels past Middlebury in their NESCAC opener Saturday as Connecticut College pulled out a 3-2 triumph in double overtime. Earlier in the week, Baltazar had a hand in all three goals, scoring twice and assisting on a third score in a 3-0 blanking of Roger Williams University.

Baltazar is a graduate of Wilbraham & Monson Academy in Wilbraham, Mass. She netted four goals in her rookie season of 2015 to lead the Camels on offense. The Camels will look to remain perfect when they visit Johnson & Wales University Monday night for a 7:00 p.m. game in Providence, R.I.
