The Connecticut College sailing programs raced at a pair of regattas hosted by Roger Williams and Navy over the past weekend.
The women's team finished 14th among 18 schools at the Navy Spring Women's Regatta with 268 points. Junior Julia Leighton (North Palm Beach, Fla.) and Ana Clarkson (Seattle, Wash.) each sailed in every race in their respective division to lead the way for the Camels.
The coed program placed sixth among eight competing schools at the Rudkin Team Race being hosted by Roger Williams. The squad relied on four freshmen skippers – CJ McKenna (Harwich, Mass.), Gordon Gurnell (Old Saybrook, Conn.), Tommy Whittemore (West Hartford, Conn.) and Walter Henry (Syosett, N.Y.) – as well as junior Carter Pemberton (Osterville, N.Y.) to pace the youngest team at the event over the two days.
Connecticut College will race at two more regattas next weekend. The coed team will host the Southern New England Team Race and the women will trek north to compete at a Boston College regatta.
