NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – The Connecticut College men's water polo team dropped a 19-6 decision to Iona on Saturday afternoon.
The Gaels scored on their first two possessions of the match and led from wire-to-wire. Connecticut College appeared to net an equalizer, but a possible marker was called back because the shot clock had expired. Iona (3-5) led 6-2 at the end of the first quarter and outscored the Camels by a 7-1 tally in the second to pull away.
Senior Dylan Pinckert (Long Beach, Calif.) led the way for the Connecticut College offense by providing two of the team's six goals, while Iona's Marc Stauble paced the hosts with four goals on five shots.
Connecticut College (0-3) returns to action when it hosts Brown on Wednesday, Sept. 20 at 7:30 p.m.
