CLAREMONT, Calif.--The Connecticut College men's water polo team visited the West Coast to compete in the Gary Troyer Tournament co-hosted by Claremont Mudd Scripps and Pomona-Pitzer Athletics.
The Camels posted a 1-3 record over the weekend. Saturday, Connecticut College earned a 14-6 victory against Cal Tech. but dropped a 15-9 decision to Claremont Mudd Scripps. In Friday's action, the Camels dropped a 17-8 decision to Cal Lutheran and were knocked off in a 13-6 loss to the Leopards of La Verne.
Freshman Sean King (La Cañada, Calif.) netted four goals to lead the Camels past the Beavers of Cal Tech. Senior Carlos Heros (Miami, Fla.) had a hat-trick with three scores for the Camels. Junior Matthew Wagman (Atlanta, Ga.) made six saves in the cage.
King had two goals, two steals and one earned ejection in the loss to CMS. Heros had two goals and one earned ejection for the Camels. Isaih Porter (La Jolla, Calif.) had three earned ejections in the match. Wagman finished with four saves in the setback.
Porter and Heros both finished with two goals and an earned ejection in the match against the Kingsmen of Cal Lutheran University. Wagman made four saves in the cage.
In the loss to the Leopards of La Verne, Heros erupted with four goals, two earned ejections and one steal for the Camels. Classmate Aidan Kelso (Washington, D.C.) contributed with three earned ejections and one steal. Junior Jake Pescatore (New Haven, Conn.) and King both finished with a goal. Wagman had three saves while Porter finished with two.
