Men’s Swimming Earns CSCAA Scholar-America Distinction

NORFOLK, Va. – The Connecticut College men's swimming team has been recognized as a CSCAA Scholar-All-America Team by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America.

To earn the distinction, a team needed to maintain a grade point average above a 3.0 during the 2018 spring semester. The Camel men registered a 3.36 team GPA, which also ranked fifth among NESCAC institutions.

In addition, seniors Drake Freiberg (South Glastonbury, Conn.) and George Tilneac (New York, N.Y.) were named CSCAA Scholar All-Americans. The individual recognition is given to swimmers who acheived a GPA of 3.50 or higher and competed at their respective NCAA/NAIA/NJCAA Swimming & Diving Championships.

The Connecticut College men's swimming team continued to be one of the institution's strongest this year by finishing in a tie for 33rd at the NCAA Championships after placing fifth at the NESCAC Championships. The program graduated eight seniors and is slated to return 10 letterwinners next season.
