A.J. Marcucci Named NESCAC Men’s Soccer Player of the Week

HADLEY, Mass. – Connecticut College freshman goalkeeper A.J. Marcucci (West Chester, Pa.) has been named the NESCAC Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon. He is being recognized for the first time of his career.

Marcucci helped lead Connecticut College to a perfect 2-0 week to begin the 2017 campaign. He most notably made 11 saves, including several from point-blank range, in the Camels' 2-1 win at Middlebury on Saturday. The victory was also the program's first over Middlebury since earning a 1-0 win over the Panthers in a semifinal matchup at the 1992 ECAC New England Division III Tournament. Furthermore, Marcucci held Mitchell scoreless in the 67 minutes he saw action this past Tuesday in the team's 8-1 rout of the Mariners.

Connecticut College (2-0) will look to stay unbeaten when it visits Salem State tomorrow at 7:00 p.m.
