NEW LONDON, Conn.—Senior forward Gaston Becherano (Hollywood, Fla.) netted his team-leading seventh goal of the season in the fifth minute and the goal stood up as Tufts University held on for a 1-0 triumph at Connecticut College Saturday.
The Jumbos improved their record to 6-3-2 and are 4-1-2 in conference play. The Camels fell to 8-4 while evening their mark at 4-4 in the NESCAC.
Freshman Zachary Trevorrow (Honolulu, Hawaii) earned the assist for the visitors.
Senior keeper Scott Greenwood (Weymouth, Mass.) stopped five shots to earn the shutout.
Mark Cameron (Bethesda, Md.) made one save in the loss for the Camels.
Connecticut College out-shot the visitors 10-to-8 and that included a 7-to-3 edge in the second half.
