NEW LONDON, Conn. – Connecticut College men's lacrosse senior Ben Parens (Sleepy Hollow, N.Y.) has been selected to participate in the 77th Annual USILA Division III North-South Senior All-Star Game, as announced by the organization.
Parens will be among three faceoff specialists and eight NESCAC student-athletes competing for the North team at the prestigious event.
As the Camels' primary faceoff specialist for the fourth straight season, Parens ranked second in the NESCAC in faceoff wins (205) and third in ground balls (120) this past spring to help the program register its highest overall and conference win totals since 2013. The senior, who is the only men's lacrosse player in school history to be named a USILA All-America First Team selection twice, ended his career with 868 faceoff wins to go along with 28 goals, three caused turnovers, and a school-record 475 ground balls. He also made the All-NEILA Second Team and the NEILA Academic All-Region Team earlier this month.
The USILA's annual senior event will be played at Chapey Field on the campus of Providence College in Rhode Island on Friday, May 25. The Division III game time is slated to begin at 5:30 p.m. and admission is free.
