NEW LONDON, Conn.--Connecticut College senior Briggs Barton of Rye, N.Y. and freshman Ben Parens of Sleepy Hollow, N.Y. have been honored on the All-New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Men's Lacrosse Team.
Barton landed on the first team at attack while Parens earned second team honors as a face-off midfielder.
Barton was the go-to player for the Camels this spring. He scored 29 goals while assisting on 12 others to lead the club with 41 points. Barton scored the final goal of his career in a 10-7 victory at Hamilton April 18. He averaged 2.07 goals per game to rank 10th in the conference.
Barton scored 90 goals over the past four years for the Camels to finish in 11th place on the program's all-time goal scoring list. He capped off his prolific playing career in 18th place on the Camels' all-time leader list for offensive production with 113 points.
Parens sparked the Camels with his terrific work in the trenches. Parens finished in third place in the NESCAC with 195 face-off wins and 110 ground balls.
He won 62% of his battles at the X in a terrific rookie season for Head Coach Dave Cornell's squad.
