NEW LONDON, Conn.--Jeff Thompson (Shelburne, Vt.) scored the third goal of his nascent career with just 6:59 remaining in regulation and classmate Avery Gobbo (Mississauga, Ont.) turned aside 38 shots to lead the Connecticut College men's hockey team to a key point in a 1-1 draw with Colby College at Dayton Arena Friday night.
The Camels improved their record to 1-5-1 with a 1-3-1 mark in the NESCAC. The Mules remain undefeated in conference action (4-0-1) and are 5-1-1 overall.
Colby College junior Michael Rudolph (Risch, Switzerland) opened the scoring with his first of the season 2:52 into the opening frame.
Andrew Tucci (Toronto, Ont.) made 20 saves in the start while sophomore Mack Burton (Marysville, Ohio) contributed with 11 saves in relief duty.
The Camels will host Bowdoin College tomorrow at 3:00 p.m. here in the Whaling City. Colby visits Tufts for a 4:00 p.m. game at the Malden Ice Palace in Malden, Mass.
